Adam bamford

Adam Bamford founded the Bamford Insurance Agency (BIA) to deliver the highest level of client service possible. Bamford honed his extensive insurance experience with a 15-year career at Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Fortune 100 company. While at Liberty Mutual, Bamford spent six and a half years as a captive insurance agent before rising the ranks in different management and leadership roles.  This provided Adam a unique experience enabling him the ability to properly protect and service his policyholders.

Bamford graduated from Baylor University Hankamer School of Business, where he met and later married his college sweetheart.  Carrying forward Baylor traditions, family, community, and giving back are important characteristics cherished by Bamford. He is the proud father of a very active sports enthusiast son and plans to continue to grow his family in the bedroom community of Prosper TX.

The Bamford Insurance Agency (BIA) is also headquartered in Prosper, Texas a rapidly growing family-based community with its dual Motto(s): “A Place Where Everyone Matters” and “Small Town, Big Heart.” Bamford often says, “If you don’t know someone in the community, you know someone who knows that person.  It’s all about making those connections that makes the community stronger.” While BIA is headquartered in North Texas, the agency team serves clients all over Texas including the Houston metroplex where Bamford still has deep roots.

Bamford is passionate about giving back, helping young students make the transition from college or high school to the next level.  During his time at Liberty Mutual, Bamford worked closely mentoring students from Baylor University Hankamer School of Business as well as the University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management.

Bamford recently expanded his mentorship to the high school level, partnering with Prosper ISD’s PCIS Symposium mentoring high school students.  He also serves on Vestry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church as well as the steering committee for The North Texas Baylor Business Network.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and mountain biking local trails with his son.

As a successful business owner and operator entrepreneur for over 40 years, Harry Smeenk brings a unique perspective and understanding of what business’ need to the Bamford Insurance Agency.

Knowing what your business insurance needs are is a daunting requirement for any business owner who is more focused on building and running their business, than trying to understand every aspect of potential risk. Most business’s today lack adequate business insurance coverage simply due to fact that business owners are not aware of the many potential types of coverages and many agents may not understand business operations needs from a day to day perspective.

Smeenk knows very well the many business risks and the different types of damages that result from not having the right coverage for your business. Business insurance, also known as commercial insurance, helps protect business owners from unexpected losses. He knows, he’s been there. He has successfully started and sold many professional services companies in the wireless, communications, and tower construction industry, so he knows all about business trucks, trailers, tools, customer equipment and all the insurance requirements for each and what happens with the wrong coverage.

There are many types of insurance policies that protect the company you’ve worked hard to build, including coverage for business property damage, legal liability and employee-related risks.  To protect your business’ property, income and financial assets, Smeenk knows from experience that you’ll want a Business Owner’s Policy which combines important coverages into one policy. Business property insurance covers cost to repair your physical location, assets, inventory, tools, and even your accounts receivables. General liability  protects your business from liability claims, and Business income insurance can help replace revenue if you can’t open your business because of damage caused by things like fires, destructive winds or burglaries. Depending on the unique needs of your company, you can also add other business coverages to customize your protection.

Smeenk recently joined Bamford Insurance Agency (BIA) as lead insurance broker in our Commercial lines department. He graduated from the University of North Carolina (UNC) with an MBA. His undergraduate Business Management degree is from St. John Fisher College, and his extensive experience in owning and operating business’, drives his commercial insurance requirements perspective and passion.
